]]>The cake is definitely a squirrel!
Yes. That is a cake shaped like a squirrel. There is a story (or many) behind every wedding celebration. When Jamile and Hayden started dating she would borrow his hooded sweatshirts often. Hayden is a vegetarian and Jamile would constantly find nuts in the pockets of those sweatshirts. And the nickname squirrel was born.
Classic White DJ Booth (new) at Castle Farms from Thomas Heath
After I introduced the wedding party, I asked everyone to raise their glasses that were filled with champagne and raspberries. I cued up “Raspberry Beret” by Prince and as J and H entered, everyone raised their glasses in a toast. They selected songs from The Greatest Showman, and “A Million Dreams” by Pink as their first dance song.
J and H First Dance at Castle Farms
You can clearly see the love in their eyes! After a dinner from Catering by Kelly’s, we moved to the Toasts and Cake Cutting. Jamile and Hayden also presented a small wedding cake to her parents who’d been married 63 years!!! It was a wonderful family moment. The parent’s dances were next, and after that we opened the dance floor for the rest of the evening. For a smaller guest count (around 70 people) this intimate group sure knew how to dance!
Uplighting and music make the Knight’s Castle in Charlevoix come to life!
As you can see, the uplighting highlights the Castle architecture in Charlevoix after dark. The evening ended with Jamie and Hayden surrounded by their family and friends, with a sendoff and a trio of buses waiting to take guests home safely. A+ Event Entertainment is proud to say that we get to work with some amazing couples and vendors! ]]>Thomas with Katelynn and Alex (with Rey) at the wedding rehearsal
Thomas, the owner of A+, was asked to not just be their DJ and master of Ceremonies for the wedding celebration; he was honored as their officiant too. Together they created a customized wedding ceremony, with just the right amount of feels, and some humor too.
I LOVE these two.
After their ceremony, they headed over to the Emmett County Community Center for their reception. Blue uplighting was used throughout the entire space, along with the largest DJ lighting package offered. Katelynn and Alex opted for the Ultimate Wedding package and that’s exactly what they got! A+ pulled out all the stops to make the wedding celebration a memorable one. When the wedding party arrived, we started the wedding party introductions. To create an awesome flow, we moved right into “The Love Story”. “The Love Story” is something that Thomas is trained to perform. He is the ONLY entertainer in northern Michigan that has taken the Love Story workshops, and it shows.
Katelynn and Alex react to a poignant part of their love story.
Because it was a Star Wars themed wedding, their Love Story needed to be EPIC. Thomas created this scrolling video, like the opening scene of all Star Wars Movies, and brought the lights down. Tears, laughter, and surprises are a part of every great Love Story.
Immediately following was their first dance! They selected “Running Home to You” by Grant Gustin. It was a great song that A+ had never used before. (They sure do love personalizing a couple’s event!). After the First Dance, they moved into toasts and then a great dinner buffet from Julienne Tomatoes. When dinner was finished they jumped into the cake cutting ceremony, parents’ dances, and open dancing!

A+ brought out all the stops for Katelynn and Alex with the video screen with their names on it during dinner, and some music videos and visualizations during the open dancing. It was an amazing night with A+ Event Entertainment, and the photo booth captured some amazing pics throughout the evening!
May the 4th be with you!
